Voices
The 100 Voices Project is part of the Crown Her movement.
It is a place where women and men can share the truths they have carried quietly — stories of trauma, survival, healing, and identity.
These voices lead us to May 1 — National Crown With Me Day.
Voice #1 — Marvreen T. Gibson
Founder, Crown Her
My hair loss began during a season of deep stress, PCOS, and personal battles that slowly shifted how I saw myself. There were moments when I looked in the mirror and felt the weight of that change — the quiet grief of identity shifting in ways I did not expect.
But in that same mirror, I also discovered something deeper.
Even as my hair changed, I realized that my worth, my identity, and my dignity were never taken from me. I am still me. I am still whole. I am still crowned.
I am crowned by my smile, by my spirit, and by embracing the woman God created me to be.
And when I look in the mirror now, I do not just see loss.
I see myself.
And that is Crown Her.
